Melissa Jones BSc, BA Hons, MNCPS (Accredited) & UKCP
Hello and Welcome to my Counselling website.
I’m Melissa and I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor working in private practice from my therapy room in old Felixstowe, Suffolk.
I also support clients nationwide & abroad, offering remotely supported sessions both online and over the phone.
The main areas I specialise in are supporting those who have experienced Sexual, Domestic and/or Emotional Abuse, those who are struggling with Bereavement/Grief & Loss and those struggling with issues around food (restriction, bingeing, purging, binge eating & body image).
As a lived experience Therapist, I have a special interest in supporting those affected by Childlessness by circumstance and those struggling with fertility difficulties.
Please see my About Therapy page for more information.
Why Counselling?
Perhaps you have something specific you would like to work through or maybe you are unsure of what exactly you are feeling. Either way I can support you as you reflect on any feelings that you are currently experiencing and any that may surface as our work develops.
Reaching out for Counselling is a big step and I honour your courage and will make space for any uncertainty you may be feeling.
I approach my work with a deep sense of compassion and honesty and offer a confidential, non-judgemental and safe environment for you to explore.
My hope is for you to feel empowered within your own life as you experience it and to help you feel heard and understood as you work towards the positive changes you are seeking.
First Steps:
I offer a free initial 30-minute consultation either online or on the phone. This gives you a chance to ask any questions you may have and to see if you feel we can work together.
Beginning Counselling can be daunting and I take time and care to ensure you feel your needs are being met. In the first session we will take some time to talk through the contract and there will also be an opportunity for you to ask any further questions that may have arisen for you.
As our time together unfolds, we will explore further what your hopes are for your counselling and talk through what you feel you may need. Whatever thoughts, needs and ideas you bring to the work are welcome and I will work to honour these as we progress. I will also review with you from time to time to ensure that I am still meeting your needs as they develop.
